Completing the online entry form

Complete the first part of the form with the details requested.

Please remember that the details here are of the person completing the form. Adults will obviously be able to complete it for themselves. For performers under 18 years old, then it should be filled in by a responsible adult, usually a parent or teacher.

When you click on the blue “Add Entry” button you’ll get a pop-up in which you can enter details of the performer(s) and of the pieces to be performed.

Firstly, select the type of entry this is to be: solo, duet etc.

Duets, trios and quartets which perform under a collective name (barbershop quartets, for example) would enter as a “group.”

Add the name(s) of the performer(s)

For a soloist (we don’t require details of any accompanist), use the top slot for his/her name. This will also be used for the first performer in larger ensembles.

We ask for the age because there are age restrictions for many classes, and to check eligibility for certain awards. You can use the drop down list or type the number.

The “Instrument” field doesn’t need to be completed where the section or class name make it clear (e.g. classes in the vocal section, or classes specifically for the harp).

Child licensing laws mean that we could be required to provide details of performers’ schools etc.

Enter the second performer’s details for a duet.

Similarly for the third and fourth performers in trios and quartets.

If you’re entering¬† a group, complete the fields as requested.

“Group” could be an orchestra, a choir or an ensemble. It could also include a duo, trio or quartet if they perform under a collective name (e.g. The Bloggs Sisters).

We need to know how many are in a group to ensure that we can accommodate them at the venue.

Complete the details of the first piece to be performed.

Please check the class number particularly carefully to ensure that the performer is eligible by age, professional status etc, as well as making sure it is the class you want to enter!

You don’t need to put anything here for classes where there are set pieces.

Many works will not need the “Further information” boxes, but they can be used to enter the movement to be performed, or the work from which it is taken, as in the examples here.

Please complete the “Total duration” box for own choice classes. It helps enormously with scheduling as well as giving you the chance to ensure it isn’t too long.

If all is correct, click “Add Entry”.
You can list up to three pieces.

Check that the syllabus allows this, though. Please ensure, too, that the time limit won’t be exceeded.

If someone is performing more than one piece, each in a different class, you’ll need to enter the second and subsequent pieces separately, i.e. click on “Add Entry” here and then go through the adding an entry process again.

Your entries will be listed under “My entries”.

Please check them carefully and edit or delete as appropriate. Caution! Clicking the red “Delete” will delete the entry immediately without requesting confirmation.

You will not be able to return here to change entries once the “Submit” button has been clicked.

You’ll be sent a confirmation e-mail soon after submitting you entries. If, having checked your junk mail folder, you haven’t received it after an hour, please contact the section secretary.

If you subsequently discover an error, you should contact the section secretary.

Clicking on “Edit” or “Delete” for one of the items listed under “My entries” will enable to you amend it.

Remember, you will not be able to return here to change entries once the “Submit” button has been clicked.

To add further entries, click on “Add Entry” as you did before.

Use the “Additional Information” box to give us details of anything which we should be aware of when arranging the classes, for example, if one of the people entering needs wheelchair access. (This doesn’t need to be specifically organised as it is already available, but it’s helpful to know in advance, nonetheless.)

If you’re able to add a donation to the entry fees, that would be much appreciated. It would be even better if you were to become a Friend of Woking Music Festival, which you can do by clicking the link at the bottom of the page.

Finally, click on “Submit,”¬† go through the payment process and you’re done!
